More than 20,000 mourners gathered at the Staples Center in Los Angeles California to pay their finally respects to basketball legend Kobe Bryant and his thirteen year old daughter Gianna Bryant who tragically lost their lives alongside seven others In a horrific helicopter crash on January 26.
Family and friends from all over packed out the Staples Center, Video footage showed people like Dwyane Wade and wife Gabrielle Union in attendance, Magic Johnson, Shaq, James Harden, Steph Curry, Beyonce and Jay-z, etc. Beyonce opened up the memorial service with a beauty tribute to Kobe and Gianna Bryant by singing her timeless hit “XO”
Vanessa Bryant pays her resects to her late husband Kobe Bryant as well as her daughter Gianna Bryant with a very emotional speech which ended with her telling Kobe to take care of Gigi and she has the rest of the girls in heaven. With a room full of love from both family and friends many fans question why Kobe Bryant’s mother and father were not mentioned at all during the tribute.
The camera showed that Kobe Bryant’s mother pam and father Joe were in the building crying and speaking to some of his teammates but they were not mentioned at all during the whole memorial service. nor was Kobe Bryant’s sisters mentioned or seen in any slide show pictures etc.
Many fans start to bring up past problems and beef believed to be between Kobe Bryant and his parents. The beef included Kobe Bryant’s parents not attending his wedding to wife Vanessa Bryant In 2003 as well as a reports that his parents tried to auction off his belongings without him even knowing in 2013. which turned into a lawsuit.
If this in fact true, Many social media users believe it is wrong to hold on to a grudge during a very difficult time like this.
