Comedienne Chelsea Handler is known for her blunt sense of humor, dry sarcasm, and quite frankly her love for Black men (i.e 50 cent). She was the host of her own successful late-night talk show, a coveted time slot usually dominated by white men.
Now, Chelsea is shaking things up a bit more with her new documentary on Netflix entitled, Hello, Privilege. It’s Me, Chelsea. In the new series, Handler delves into her past and recalls experiences where she has benefited from the social structure of white privilege.
Considering the political, social, and racial climate in this country, it’s refreshing to hear the voice of a white person who acknowledges and admits to benefiting from white privilege and address ways to use that privilege to combat prejudice.
