With Meek Mill being crucified on social media for his meager attempt at dissing Drake on “Wanna Know,” The Game seizes his moment to shine by dropping his new video for “100” featuring the OVO general.
After the Internet went bonkers over the initial release of The Game’s soulful banger, it was only a matter of time that the Compton wordsmith released the video. In typical Game fashion, he provides us with a vivid exploration around his beloved hometown of Compton. He brings everyone from his crew, to gang affiliates, to even the kids to represent his city to the fullest.
“See, I know how it feel to me platinum-plus / N-ggas is jealous of you, so they try to wrap you up / Tat you up, but it’s OVO, Blood Money / N*gga catch these bullets like the catch the bus,” raps Game.
His Toronto comrade, Drake, enters in with a smooth hook to encapsulate the hood appeal of the record. “Y’all better not come to my studio with that fake shit / Y’all better not come to my funeral with that fake sh-t / Y’all better off realizin’ there’s nothin’ that y’all could do with’ me / All I ever asked is keep it eight more than 92 with me, 100,” he chants on the hook.
For his chilling verse, Drake, ironically foreshadows the betrayal of Meek and other rappers who try to conspire against him and his OVO family.
“And they love me while they skimmin’ off the budget / Now, when I see ’em, they’re the ones that’s actin’ funny / People been reachin’ out to me / And I’m on some straight unresponsive sh-t,” he raps.
Overall, this video definitely captures the hood ambiance of Compton. In addition, the two rappers chemistry on the record is beyond flawless. Even though there’s isn’t a definitive date for Game’s highly-anticipated album, The Documentary 2, rest assure, it should be on the way sooner than you think.
