Supreme Court Split On Arizona’s Immigration Law

In a 5-3 ruling, the supreme court voted to end certain parts of the law, but upheld officers’ right to check suspected immigrants’ citizen status, if they felt it was warranted. However, granting authorities the power to further investigate alleged immigrants is a form of racial profiling, which sparked the law’s controversy.
