5th Annual Richmond Day, celebrating 404 years of the concept of Richmond. It’s Richmond Day Regional Celebration happening in the heart of Shockoe Bottom.
Richmond Day was first celebrated on May 24, 2007, in conjunction with the 400th anniversary of Jamestown, and has been celebrated every year since. This year the Richmond regional community will celebrate Richmond Day on Sunday May 22nd with a family friendly festival that will stretch across Shockoe and the riverfront, with the main festivities at the Historic 17th Street Farmers’ Market and 14th Street Turning Basin. The former Richmond Day commemoration will be held on May 24th in Libby Hill Park, which offers the view that named our community Richmond.
