Bow Wow's BET Awards Tiny Desk Performance

The BET Awards always bring unforgettable performances, but one I’m especially excited for this year is Bow Wow’s upcoming Tiny Desk-inspired set.

If you know, you know—Bow Wow’s catalog runs way deeper than people give him credit for. From “Bounce With Me” and “Take Ya Home” to “Like You,” “Let Me Hold You,” and “Fresh Azimiz,” he has an entire era of hits that raised a generation of hip-hop and R&B fans.

That’s why this performance feels like such a perfect fit. The Tiny Desk format has become known for highlighting an artist’s catalog in a more intimate, music-first setting, and I think Bow Wow is about to remind everybody just how many records he really has.

I’m expecting nothing but nostalgia. I already know social media is going to be rapping every word, posting throwback memories, and remembering just how dominant Bow Wow was throughout the 2000s. Sometimes we get so caught up in today’s music that we forget the artists who gave us the soundtrack to our childhoods.

Honestly, I think this could end up being one of the standout performances of the night. If Bow Wow leans into the classics and gives us a few surprises, the internet is going to have a field day.

Needless to say, I’ll be tuned in. And if this performance lives up to the hype, don’t be surprised if fans start calling for Bow Wow to get an official NPR Tiny Desk Concert next. His catalog has definitely earned the opportunity.
