Sean Kingston’s Mom Asks for Mercy Ahead of Sentencing

Sean Kingston’s mother, Janice Turner, is asking a judge for leniency as she awaits sentencing in a federal fraud case. The 62-year-old is facing serious time but is hoping the court will consider her age, health issues, and the fact that she didn’t personally profit from the scheme.

In legal documents filed ahead of her sentencing on July 23, 2025, Turner’s team is asking for a sentence of no more than 30 months behind bars. She’s also facing deportation to Jamaica, which her attorneys say would permanently separate her from her family in the U.S.

Turner is requesting to serve her time as close to Miami as possible to allow for family visits, though the nearest women’s prison is nearly 500 miles away in Tallahassee. Support letters describe her as a caring woman active in her community, and her lawyers hope those details help sway the court’s final decision.

We’ll keep you posted on what happens next.
