Reflecting on her leading role, Thorne shared, “It feels good to know the work you’ve been putting in is going somewhere. Getting that call was an affirmation, like, ‘Oh, y’all been seeing me.’”
The interview also touched on how Thorne manages the pressures of taking on such a significant role. “You’re giving so much of yourself,” she explained, emphasizing the importance of self-care. “One thing I absolutely prioritize is sleep. Playing a superhero is one thing, but I’m still human, and so is Riri.”

When asked about dealing with negativity, she answered confidently, “I understand some people like to vent digitally, but it doesn’t have much to do with me. Representation matters, and we have Black women where it matters in this series, both in front of and behind the camera.”
