Riley Burruss made a bold entrance on Bravo’s new reality series “Next Gen NYC”, which premiered Tuesday, but the 22-year-old NYU student didn’t exactly hit it off with co-star Georgia McCann.

In the premiere episode, Burruss—daughter of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum Kandi Burruss—was forced to give McCann a reality check when the self-proclaimed “It Girl” attempted to touch her without washing her hands after a trip to the restroom.

The awkward moment unfolded when McCann followed Burruss and a few other “Next Gen NYC” cast members to the bathroom to pee. While the cameras didn’t capture what happened inside, audio revealed Burruss’s shocked reaction as she questioned McCann for not washing her hands after using the loo.

“Girl, you don’t wash your hands?!” Burruss asked, to which McCann boldly replied, “I don’t really believe in that. I’m pro germ.” Still in disbelief, Burruss asked her co-star whether she was “joking” when she made the nasty confession, and McCann doubled down on her bad habit.

“I’m dead a–!” she said. “I was like the kid in New York City eating candy off the sidewalk.”The pair had a cringey interaction later on in the show, when McCann tried to show off her new nails to the group. Burruss peered over to take a look, but did not hold the young socialite’s hand.

“I would hold your hand, but you didn’t wash them,” she said with a hint of shade.

Then, McCann tried to explain her no-handwashing theory, again, to the group.

“I had no allergies. I never get the flu. I might be crazy, but I really think it’s because as a kid, growing up, I had no sense of germs. It was like, touch worms, touch your mouth.”

She added later on during her confessional, “Germs kind of grow your microbiome. This is not me making this off. This is like, scientifically proven. Germs are good.”

As everyone parted ways for the night Burruss and McCann faced another hurdle, when the latter leaned in to give the former a hug and say goodbye. Burruss quickly pulled away and said, “No, sorry girl. I don’t want you to touch me.”

McCann wasn’t happy with Burruss’s bold display of rejection, which she made known during her confessional.

“Girl, I literally met you tonight,” the downtown NYC native said. “You’re telling me to do with my body… Like what happened to my body, my choice.”

We’re not sure if McCann missed the memo, but handwashing remains one of the simplest and most effective ways to protect yourself and others from respiratory and diarrheal infections. Germs spread easily—whether it’s through touching your face with unwashed hands, handling food, coming into contact with contaminated surfaces, or coughing and sneezing into your hands and then touching shared objects.

According to the CDC, frequent handwashing—especially before, during, and after preparing food—is essential for staying healthy and stopping the spread of illness. Did she not learn anything after COVID?!

Social media reacts.

Social media users voiced support for Burruss’s reaction, too.

“We are with Riley on this one. Did the young lady not learn anything from the pandemic? 😷 Wash your hands!,” wrote one user in the comments section of The Jasmine Brand’s post.

“She is saying my body my choice….Just like it’s Riley’s choice NOT to let her hug her. It’s her choice,” another user shared.

A third netizen hilariously added, “Saying pro germ as a way to be dirty is crazy. Lmao.”

Crazy, indeed.
