Country music fans are fired up with Lil Nas X…AGAIN!
New to the scene Atlanta rapper Lil Nas X is no stranger to controversy, he exploded on the scene with his genre-bending hit ‘Old Town Road’. Lil Nas X first upset country fans when his base-heavy, western inspired track hit the Billboard country music charts; which Billboard later removed for not being ” country enough”. Thankfully for X, country music icon Billy-Ray Cyrus stepped in and offered his vocals, solidifying the placement of the song on the Billboard country charts.
Fast forward and ‘Old Town Road’ is killing the charts, and Lil Nas X is booked and busy due to his newfound fame. The rapper just snagged a partnership for a capsule line with traditionally conservative denim brand Wrangler Jeans, which has sent a shockwave of disapproval from their loyal consumer base. Wrangler customers took to social media to express their disdain:
“This is ridiculous!!! Great way to lose the customers that made you successful, to begin with!!! I think I might not buy any Wranglers again.”
“Can’t believe Wrangler stooped to that level, stop trying to conform and stay loyal to your country roots!”
