Egypt Sherrod is the ultimate Renaissance woman.
She’s one of the most recognizable voices in radio from starring in her own show, “Middays with Egypt,” on New York’s 107.5. She’s been all over TV on shows like including “The Maury Show,” “The Joy Behar Show,” “The Today Show” and now her hit HGTV program, “Property Virgins.” She’s even used her success to help families in need through her charity, the Egypt Cares Family Foundation and her coat and toy drive, “Egypt’s Give Back Tour” throughout the metropolitan area.
However, now the famed media personality and real estate guru is starting the year off with a bang by snagging one of the most coveted award nominations in the entertainment industry: an NAACP Image Award.
After publishing her first book, Keep Calm…It’s Just Real Estate: Your No Stress Guide To Buying A Home in 2015, Egypt is now a candidate for an NAACP Image Award in Outstanding Literary work alongside other greats like Ta-Nehisi Coates, Shonda Rhimes and Edwidge Danticat.
At the nominee luncheon for the 47th Annual Image Awards, Egypt spoke about her gratitude for being celebrated in the ceremony.
“I am humbled and honored to receive such a prestigious nomination on my first literary release. I wanted to write a book to help everyone achieve the American dream, and I believe I accomplished that,” she said.
Keep Calm…It’s Just Real Estate is for first time home-buyers that need guidance on the process. It’s filled with special, valuable tips from one of the most trusted experts in the real estate industry on things like finding the right agent and winning a bidding war for your dream home. With the success that she’s gained from “Property Virgins” and her previous HGTV real estate show, “Flipping Virgins,” it’s no surprise that Egypt book is doing so well.
Stacy London, another one of our favorite television hosts from the popular show, “What Not To Wear,” swears by Egypt’s real estate advice.
“Egypt Sherrod is my Realtor BFF in my head and Keep Calm…It’s Just Real Estate should be a MUST HAVE for all buyers,” London said. “I wish I read this book when I was buying my first property.”
Git it, Egypt! Good luck to this sista goddess and to all the nominees at this year’s Image Awards ceremony.
