As the time has come again for us to honor those whose work in the fields of television, music, literature, film and social justice shone so brightly via the 48th Annual NAACP Image Awards, we’d like to take a moment to express our gratitude for those who made a tough year so much easier to survive.

As he accepted the NAACP President's Award, artist and activist John Legend shared the importance of fighting for justice.

At last night's untelevised ceremony announcing other early wins, Mike Epps also got the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his role on "Survivor’s Remorse."
