According to ESPN reports:

The Lions announced the release of the 29-year-old running back Wednesday afternoon.

The Lions released  Reggie Bush on Wednesday after two seasons with the team.

The move saves the Lions $1.7 million in cap room for 2015, which is needed in order to keep defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh
