In ’50 Shades of Hell No’ news, Dr. David Simon of Lake Worth, Florida faces losing his license after using whips, blindfolds, handcuffs, and sex toys to treat a female patient suffering with depression, reports the Sun Sentinel.

According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, Simon used “punishment therapy” to treat the 39-year-old patient’s condition, which included making her strip naked and perform sexual favors while blindfolded. Simon would also tie her up, slap her and lock her in a closet.

Simon insisted to investigators that the relationship was not only consensual, but initiated by the patient, who asked him if was “into sex toys.” When he said yes, Simon says she further pushed for the BDSM relationship. He agreed to engage under the condition that he wouldn’t be able to see her as a patient anymore.

The woman, identified only as CK, tells a different story.

According to CK, she was very much still a patient, even though she never paid for the sessions. Simon would gift her with free medication samples and money for food in exchange for sexual favors. She was afraid he would hurt her if she ending the relationship, but knew that she could not continue after one especially violent session.

After locking her in the closet for a long period of time in 2011, Simon allegedly whipped and choked CK mercilessly, driving her to attempt suicide a month later, reports Health News Florida.

The relationship came to light after she spoke about it with her psychologist, who then contacted law enforcement.

Because the relationship was consensual, Simon will not face criminal charges but he may lose his license to practice in the state of Florida, said one member of the Florida Board of Osteopathic Medicine.

“He’s deeply embarrassed,” Simon’s attorney, David Spencer, told WPBF. “This was a consensual relationship with an adult woman. However, the Board of Health is clear that doctors can’t have a sexual relationship with a patient. That’s why we worked out the settlement.”

That settlement, which included a reprimand, a $10,000 fine and two years’ probation, was rejected by the board, reports HNF.

“If there was ever a time that this board would revoke a license for sexual misconduct, this is it,” said  Dr. Ronald Burns, board chairman. “We cannot have an osteopathic physician behaving like this.”

Simon, who has practiced medicine for 28 years, also allegedly sexually harassed a 24-year-old patient back in 2010, reports WPBF. The woman claims that while Simon examined her nude body, he rubbed her back and the top of her buttocks and said: “I think you need to be punished for being a bad girl. It seems you really need to be punished.”

The disgraced doctor says the publicity has ruined his career and his personal life: “I can’t excuse it,” said Simon. “I’ve embarrassed for myself, and it has devastated my wife.”
