I love when celebrities use there fame and power for great causes. Jay-Z has partnered with Barneys to create “an immersive gallery space” titled “A New York Holiday” and portions of proceeds will go to his Shawn Carter Foundation.
The partnership will include limited-edition Jay Z designs including watches and a humidor, along with products from Balenciaga, Balmain, Lanvin, Proenza Schouler and other designers, all in a palette of black, white, gold and silver.
Now yes the items will be a bit pricey (I mean it is Barneys). The Shawn Carter by Hublot watch with alligator straps ($33,900) and a men’s raincoat with gold snaps by Alexander Stutterheim ($675) will be available. At this point the cheapest item is a $70 cotton T-shirt but hey there’s always after Christmas sales.
This 18-karat-gold Hoorsenbuhs ring is one of the items you can expect to see in Jay Z’s “A New York Holiday” collection with Barneys.
The great part about this collab is that a quarter of sales will go to Jay Z’s Shawn Carter Foundation, which helps low-income students cover college costs.
