While Big Sean was on his promo tour for the release of ‘Finally Famous’he hit up his former high school Cass Tech to speak with students about living out their dreams no matter what they may be.

Big Sean recounted his journey in music saying he started rapping in a group called S.O.S., Sons Of The Streets, with Best Friend Pat Piff. The duo established their talents on the Friday Night Cypher inside the Radio One Detroit Studios on HOT 102.7, formerly 105.9 Jamz.

During the Question and Answer portion of Big Sean’s talk with the youth, one student asked what happened to Pat. Big Sean broke down:

“It makes me cry and sh** talking about it…I always had Pat on my mixtapes, I was always trying to keep him involved in my music and he moved away down south…he got into the wrong things and it messed his brain up, he wasn’t the same person when he moved back”
