His Flint contribution of $500,000 is the largest celebrity donation to date. Avita Water will match his donation in water bottles.

President Obama on Saturday announced an emergency declaration that would allocate $5 million in federal aid to assist Flint in the water crisis.

Gov. Rick Snyder requested the president declare a federal emergency on Thursday after nearly exhausting all efforts to prevent residents from cooking, drinking, and bathing using the lead-filled water.

Over 30 troops will be on the ground by Friday to hand out water bottles, filters and testing kits to the homes of almost 100,000 residents.
