Governor Ralph Northam has taken steps to further stop the spread of the pandemic by issuing a mandate to close Virginia schools for the rest of the school year.

The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 continues to rise in the Commonwealth.

According to the Virginia Department of Health, there are currently 51 confirmed cases of the coronavirus in the Commonwealth. While over 400 people have already been tested for the virus.

Governor Ralph Northam has declared a State of Emergency in Virginia. According to the Virginia Department of Health (VDH), the Commonwealth has at least 17 “presumptive positive” cases of the coronavirus. 

Despite the mounting pressure, Gov. Northam is digging in, determined not to resign.
