JAY-Z’s HBO Max Docuseries Gets an Official Premiere Date

HBO Max has announced that “JAY-Z in 8” will premiere September 18, with two episodes releasing each week. The eight-part series features JAY-Z sitting down with legendary producer Rick Rubin to break down the stories, lyrics, and inspiration behind some of his biggest songs.

Throughout the series, Hov revisits music from Reasonable Doubt, The Blueprint, The Black Album, American Gangster, Watch the Throne, 4:44, and more, offering fans a rare glimpse into his creative process and the moments that shaped his career.

The announcement comes as JAY-Z continues a busy year that includes major live performances across Europe and the U.S., adding even more anticipation for what could become one of hip-hop’s must-watch documentaries.
