Back in July, Drake released his single “What Did I Miss?” featuring visuals of the rapper surrounded by rows of guns. Now, photographer Gabriele Galimberti has filed a federal lawsuit accusing Drake of “willful and extensive infringement.”

According to PetaPixel, Galimberti says a key scene in the video mirrors a photograph from his 2020 book The Ameriguns, which documents American gun culture. Both the photo and Drake’s visual depict men standing near a home with firearms arranged in precise parallel lines around a swimming pool.

Galimberti points specifically to the 14-second mark of the video, claiming it replicates his work “down to the very last detail,” including the symbolic layout of the weapons. He says he only learned of the similarity after fans began tagging him online. His legal team has since compiled a side-by-side comparison as part of the suit.

The Closer

With the lawsuit now in motion, Drake may have to defend his creative choices in court — and the comparisons aren’t working in his favor.
