The number of lawsuits against Roblox is gaining traction as the gaming platform faces accusations of failing to protect children from predators, sextortion and exploitation. A new case alleges that a young girl from Michigan was sexually exploited by an adult posing as a child on the site.

The Dolman Law Group has filed five lawsuits against Roblox and is preparing to file a sixth. The suits claim predators lure children with Robux, the game’s virtual currency, offering it in exchange for explicit photos.

The lawsuits further allege that predators use Robux as a form of blackmail, threatening to release explicit content unless children provide additional inappropriate images. In its filings, Dolman Law Group said Roblox promotes itself as “a safe and appropriate space for children” but in reality is “a digital and real-life nightmare for kids.”

Concerns about Roblox are not new. Social media has circulated content showing children exposing their addresses, adults reportedly showing up to children’s homes unannounced, and parents warning of the platform’s potential dangers. The ongoing question remains: How many allegations and complaints must surface before meaningful, permanent safeguards are put in place?

Adding to the controversy, a YouTuber known as Schlep, who creates Roblox-related content, revealed he may be banned from the platform for exposing predators in his videos. Schlep disclosed that Roblox sent him a cease-and-desist letter, stating his actions violated company policy and “directly undermines Roblox’s safety efforts and critically exposes our users to increased risk.”

In response, Schlep posted a video titled Roblox Is Threatening to Sue Me for Protecting Kids.” He argued that his work has directly led to the arrest of six predators, and that the cease-and-desist letter was the first time a Roblox representative contacted him—despite his repeated attempts to raise safety concerns with the company.

Despite Roblox’s stated policies, critics argue that independent advocates and “vigilantes” are doing the work the company has failed to do: protecting children from exploitation.

Ultimately, the responsibility extends beyond Roblox itself. Parents and consumers must recognize the power they hold over the platform’s future. Children cannot protect themselves—they depend on adults to advocate for their safety. If we don’t protect them who wil?
