After the Huguenot High School graduation ceremony ended at the Altria Theater in downtown Richmond, hundreds of people were put in danger when a gunman opened fire. Police in Richmond said that seven individuals were injured, including a high school graduate, and two people were shot.

Richmond’s interim police chief, Rick Edwards, described the scene as “chaotic” because people were ducking for shelter at the sound of gunfire.
Outside the Altria Theater, Naomi Wade was selling flowers, teddy bears, and other graduation gifts. She reported seeing a large number of happy, smiling graduates in their caps and gowns. However, as the graduates left the theater, she heard shots fired.
Trampling one another in desperation to escape, “everyone” began running for their life. I was trampled. They completely trampled our stance. It was terrifying,” Wade said.
Reportedly A 19-year-old was taken into custody Tuesday night, and he will be charged with two charges of second-degree murder, according to police. The person responsible was likely acquainted with at least one of the victims, according to the police.
