Did you know that Richmond has a female football team? Not to mention the fact that they are actually really good!
Meet the Richmond Black Widows. A full contact female football team that is currently competing in the National Championship of the Women’s Football Alliance.
Players Melyse Brown, Mel Rouse, and Chandler Simms stopped by the studio to talk football with Cam Cooper.
Make no mistake this is not like your middle school’s tag football team, these ladies are putting in work on the gridiron.
“We hit,” Brown says. It’s definitely a contact sport, and with the Widows dominating their third season, it’s obvious their not shying away from making the big plays.
