Carrie Fisher passed away Tuesday morning after spending days in intensive care. TMZ reports that on Dec. 23 Fisher suffered a heart attack onboard a flight from London to Los Angeles.

The star was later rushed to UCLA Medical Center where she remained until her death. A best-selling author, Fisher was on-tour promoting her new book, The Princess Diarist.
Fisher rose to fame as Princess Leia of the Star Wars film franchise. Her death comes days after the recent release of the latest Star Wars installation, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story on Dec 16.
Fisher is survived by her daughter Billie Lourd.
