Chattanooga, Tennessee police have released a harrowing recording of a 911 call related to a double-homicide that occurred on Sunday.

The victims, George Dillard, 24, and Lakita Hicks, 25, were shot and killed inside their home and police say the shootings were witnessed by the couple’s 5-year-old son, who called 911 after the gunman left the scene.

The Washington Post reports that the child made the call at 10:30 PM ET Sunday and explained what he saw in heartbreaking detail.

My daddy and my momma got shot,” calmly explained the boy via the Post’s report. The dispatcher, confused by the statement, asked the boy to repeat himself and after being asked if they were fighting, the boy replied, “No, this dude shot them.”

Local outlet WTVC reports that the boy is now with members of his family and was not physically hurt in the incident. The station also stated that Dillard was a known gang member but his involvement has not been named as a motive for the killing as of yet.

Chattanooga Police officials say they’re working in tandem with its Victim Services Coordinator and the Family Justice Center to provide resources and assistance to the boy. In addition, a GoFundMe campaign has also been set up to help pay for Hicks’ burial. So far $2,100 has been raised in a goal of $5,000.
