Air Pollution Reaches Unseen Levels In West Africa
Smog in big cities like Lagos, Nigeria are accepted as a part of everyday life but the effects of air pollution is having severely damaging effects on residents and the environment. While people are becoming injured or are simply dying from inhaling deadly fumes from nearby power plants, emissions are changing the climate (specifically rainfall) along the coast of West Africa. Even worse, there isn’t enough research is being conducted on emissions from newer urban centers and their direct impact on weather systems, crops and public health. Read more on the issue at Quartz.
