Radio One listeners, Radio One personalities, socia media followers, elected officials and community thank you for suppporting the 7th Annual Send-A-Kid To Camp Radiothon. It was a huge success, so far, 60 children will attend camps at Richmond Parks Recreation and Community Facilities. Let’s send more children to camp by simply making a donation through the end of May.

Thanks for keeping children safe this summer MAKE YOUR DONATION ONLINE HERE  or if making a donation by check, please make checks payable to Camp Diva and in the memo section write Send A Kid Campaign. Mail checks to Camp Diva 3601 Dill Road, Richmond, VA 23220.

All donations are tax deductable and will help pay for city children to have an exciting and educational summer camp experience.

The Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities’ summer camp program offers nine weeks of structured activities for children ages 6 – 11, Monday – Friday from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm starting June 23 and continuing through August 22. This year’s theme is “Fantasy Island”

Children enrolled in the camp are immersed in fun activities each day that include art and cultural enrichment, health and physical education, science and environmental education, and personal and social development as well as field trips. The camp is offered at 13 department community centers throughout the city and costs $250 per child for city residents and an additional cost for non-city residents.

 The annual Send-A-Kid to camp radiothon is in partnership with Richmond Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities, Camp Diva, EnRichmond Foundation, Radio One Richmond and the Alexander Lance Booker Child Safety Foundation.
