Joseph Patterson, the man accused of beating Adrian Peterson’s 2-year-old son to death, has been released from jail.
The 27-year-old walked out of a South Dakota jail after pleading not guilty and posting his $750,000 bond in cash. According to The Argus Leader, a local Sioux Falls paper, his bond was successfully lowered because the young boy’s death was “consistent with choking, which is what Patterson told a 911 operator had happened.”

Attorney Tim Rensch confirmed there are no conditions to Patterson’s release, and he plans to stay local to defend himself.
As we reported earlier, Patterson was supposed to be babysitting the toddler when the alleged beating took place on October 9. He’s been charged with second degree murder, two counts of first degree manslaughter, aggravated battery of an infant and felony child abuse.
