Oprah Winfrey, having largely geared her brand towards Middle-American white women over the course of her rising career, is now working to regain her Black audience.

Struggling to attract a large viewership nearly eleven months since her fledgling OWN network premiered, Winfrey, the network executives, is switching up her game plan, acknowledging that she is going after black audiences.

Though it’s nice to know that we’ll be getting more shows out of Ms. Oprah, it’s hard not to harbor some resentment at being her ugly-duckling-turned-swan, reckoning Winfrey’s sudden change of heart with virtually being ignored for years.
