Former defensive end for the Detroit Lions/Denver Broncos DE Jason Hunter was the victim of a stabbing by none other than his 23-year-old girlfriend! A 911 call was placed after 9 a.m./EST time this morning, but police are not sure when the stabbing occurred. He was stabbed in the left shoulder.
Detroit police did take Hunter’s girlfriend into custody and she’s facing charges including felonious assault.
He was taken to a Detroit-area hospital. His condition has not been disclosed.
The Broncos released a statement saying:
“Our thoughts are with Jason, and we are hopeful he makes a quick recovery. Out of respect for his privacy, we will not have additional comment on the matter at this time.”
