Kathryn Bigelow made history as she became the first woman to receive the honor – and she beats out her ex-husband James Cameron’s ‘Avatar.’
‘This is the moment of a lifetime,’ says Bigelow, who receives her statuette from Barbra Streisand, who opines, ‘The time has come.’
The film took home 5 other Oscars, including Best Picture.
