Former Dallas Cowboy standout wide receiver Michael Irvin reached a settlement in the sexual battery, civil lawsuit filed against him stemming from 2007.

The incident may have been years ago but the lawsuit was filed right before Irvin was to appear on last season’s “Dancing With The Stars” competition.

Irvin’s attorney, Larry Friedman was approached by the woman’s lawyer ordering Irvin to pay the woman $1 million, or a lawsuit would be filed to coincide with the Super Bowl, which was being played Feb. 7, 2010 in Miami.

Friedman called the lawsuit “civil extortion.”

According to the woman’s claim, Irvin got her drunk and took her to his hotel room at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood.

She claims the Hall Of Fame receiver raped her and another man forced her to perform oral sex. However, there was no physical evidence because the woman waited more than 2 weeks to report the incident.

Even after a 2-week wait and 3 years passing before the suit, somehow the ‘athlete-hotel-sex scandal’ still pays off.

Irvin’s $100 million defamation countersuit will be dropped as part of the settlement.
