Black History Month originated in 1926, founded by Carter G. Woodson and was created to celebrate achievements, births, important timelines, events and to remember those we lost.

In 1960 African-American students from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical College led a series of nonviolent protests at the lunch counter of Woolworth’s department store.

Black women aren’t stuck in the roles of yesteryear. Over time, they’ve graced screens – both big and small – playing versatile, relatable, and touching roles that help inspire #BlackGirlMagic all over the world.
