Virginia General Assembly

Virginia’s oldest lawmaking body, the General Assembly is considering holding public hearings into the sexual allegations against Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax. CBS correspondent Gayle King recently interviewed both women who say Fairfax forced himself on them. Dr. Vanessa Tyson says he assaulted her during the 2004 Democratic National Convention in Boston, and Meredith Watson says he attacked her while they were both students at Duke University. Both interviews aired earlier this week on CBS This Morning. Republicans are calling for a bi-partisan hearing into the matter. It isn’t known when a decision will be made, however, Virginia lawmakers are set to meet at 12 noon today.
