Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Park in Atlanta, Georgia has been closed since the government shutdown started on December 22nd. The park will be re-opened in time for Dr. King’s national holiday thanks to a grant from Delta Airlines.
The money will allow the park to open on Saturday, January 19th and to operate until SuperBowl Sunday on February 3rd. The game will be played not far away at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The park includes the home where King was born, the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church and a visitors center as well as other landmarks to see.
Have you ever been to the King park in Atlanta? Do you have activities going on in your area for the King holiday on Monday?
