Black girl magic is everywhere. With the elevated consciousness pertaining to women’s issues, it’s great to hear a few male artists using their lyrics to honor women. Opting out of the all too familiar “bitches and hos” narrative to empower and uplift.
These men succeed at glorifying women not just for our appearance — that’s the easy way out — but for our intelligence and ambition.
Ne-Yo is one of the best. He has penned and sung numerous ballads and upbeat dance songs that celebrate womanhood. In honor of the Grammy award-winning artist performing at Stone Soul 2018 I’ve gathered a few anthems from the talented singer-songwriter that celebrate black women and all the magic we possess!
