Pastor Alvin L. Hill is a leader whose compassionate heart for the revitalization of rural communities, seeks to change the stories of those who were once simply surviving to that of those who are thriving spiritually, physically, economically, and mentally.

A native and resident of Richmond, VA., his conviction to preach Jesus to the world started at an early age. He was licensed to the ministry at 11 years old. His passion and calling for ministry gave him the opportunity to serve in various ministerial roles over the course of his life as a youth minister, associate minister, pastoral assistant, and the former Secretary & Vice President of the Baptist General Convention of Virginia, Youth and Young Adult Division.

Pastor Hill also served as pastor of the historic Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Richmond County, VA. Hill graduated from Morgan State University. During his time there, he led the student body as SGA president, worked as a lobbyist for Morgan State University’s Office of Governmental Relations. Pastor Hill was initiated into the Alpha Iota Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated in the Fall of 2011. Immediately following his initiation, he became active within the leadership of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., where he served as the Eastern Province Junior Vice Polemarch (President) and a member of the Undergraduate Grand Board of Directors.

Additionally, Pastor Hill’s passion for bringing awareness to the challenges that plague the African-American community in rural areas led him to be instrumental in re-establishing the Richmond County Chapter of the NAACP. After graduating from Morgan State University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, he went on to receive a Master of Divinity from the Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University.

He is currently pursuing an Associate degree in Funeral services from John Tyler Community College and serves as a Funeral Service Apprentice at the J.M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment in Petersburg, VA. Alvin Hill currently serves as the pastor of The Community’s Christian Church which works to provide economic development and empowerment to an area otherwise overlooked. Hill’s vision to revitalize rural communities across the United States, is anchored by the great commission.

He strongly believes that the church’s responsibility to offer life in the form of salvation should not stop with Jesus but rather, begin with Jesus. Thus, he has taken up the task to ensure those he preaches to and leads, are equipped to live holistically abundant lives.
