DJ & Model
Pennsylvania native, Shanel Ashley, is walking proof that patience and persistence can create a full-time career out of your passion. Shanel, better known as Shanel the DJ, spent the past couple of years building her clout and perfecting her craft through the city of Richmond.
Since 2011, Shanel has opened/DJ’d for big-name celebrities like David Banner, Amanda Seals, CeCe Peniston, and Deetranada from the reality show “The Rap Game”. Major retail stores have also landed on her client lists, such as Macy’s, DTLR, Lulu Lemon, Sprint Corporation and more.
Recently, Shanel has found herself DJing in the fitness community spinning in some of Richmond’s hottest fitness studios. She has DJ’d classes for BOHO Cycle, Cyclebar, BareSoul, AvailFit and more.
Shanel is currently the resident DJ for Sky Zone Trampoline Park, the Style and Spirits Happy Hour DJ and continues to do various parties and events.
Although most Richmond locals may know Shanel the DJ from spinning their favorite tunes at their favorite events, Shanel also has a thriving modeling career. Ripping runway shows in Miami, Charleston, D.C., Philadelphia, and New York sparked the beginning of her work as a model. She was later published on the cover of Carytown Guide (Richmond Magazine), modeled in an ad for Diamonds Direct, and is featured on numerous boutique sites.
At the age of 25, Shanel has been able to combine her love for fashion, fitness, and music into the career of her dreams.
