Avohom grew up fascinated with politics and government and calling of wanting to make a difference. That calling led him to Hampton University where he majored in Political Science and minored in History. At HU, Carpenter helped start a Students for Obama Chapter in 2007 and was a member of the Political Science Club.

During his 2 year tenure, we registered more than 200,000 people to vote, help restore the civil rights to thousands in our community and have done countless educational presentations to local high schools and college classrooms.

Recently, Avohom took over the position of State Director with The League of Conservation Voters, where he will look to register thousands of voters, educate the community on environmental justice issues, mobilize people to action and turnout citizens across the Commonwealth of Virginia in the upcoming elections.
