Troops will be heading to the Mexican border according to Homeland Security secretary Kirstjen Nielsen. President Trump is expected to sign an order to deploy National Guard troops to the U.S. southern border. It remains unclear how many troops will be sent to the border, how long they will be deployed and how much the operation will cost. Nielsen talked about the order as a way to toughen an immigration system that “rewards bad behavior,” including illegal drug smuggling and border crossings. Are you worried that this move will provoke more violence at the border? Does it send a message to Mexico about our resolve to protect our borders?
