Rapper Meek Mill is getting more support after he was sentenced to 2 to 4 years in prison for violating his probation. Yesterday, the Rev. Al Sharpton paid rapper Meek Mill a visit in a Pennsylvania jail to discuss Meek’s harsh sentencing. After the two’s hour-long visit, the Rev. Al Sharpton spoke with a number of reporters on the meeting between the two and how Meek symbolizes ‘abuse’ of the justice system.

Sharpton has a history of helping rappers who have been unjustly served by the justice system. In the 90’s, Sharpton helped  negotiate with the warden at New York’s Clinton Correctional Facility to have Tupac released from solitary confinement.
