The Heroin/Opioid epidemic is a community crisis in VA. Former users have stepped up to help reduce loss of life and share stories of recovery.
The Heroin/Opioid epidemic is more than politics, policy but a people’s issue. The epidemic is impacting our children, families, communities, and public safety. In other words, we have a public health emergency in Virginia.
In Virginia, there were 1,420 drug-related deaths and of that number 1,133 died from drug overdoses in 2016. The Virginia Department of Health
Over 2.5 million Americans suffer from opioid use disorder, which contributed to over 28,000 overdose deaths in 2014. – The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIH)

The Barbershop is the platform to disseminate information. Team Rolling For Freedom-R4F, the Broken Men Foundation and Project Give Back to Community offer recovery solutions to this epidemic that has no color, social status or pay scale. All are affected by this crisis.
Richmond Mayor Levar Stoney is our special guest at Supreme Hairstyling Lounge at 1st and Marshall Streets (downtown Richmond) the host site to meet those in recovery and the community at the Barbershop Talk, One Community of Solutions on Thursday, September 14, 2017 from 6:00 p.m.- 7:30 p.m. This is a free event so get there early because space is limited.
