UPDATE (6:20 p.m.) The lock down has been lifted at Fairlane Mall.
Dearborn police sent out a notification that the situation following a shooting this afternoon is “under control” and that there is no risk to shoppers.
Gunshots erupted earlier at Fairlane Mall Monday afternoon after a robbery outside the Orange Julius in the food court.
Dearborn police confirm there were gunshots fired inside the mall before 4:30 p.m.
According to police, a robbery happened outside the Orange Julius leading to the shots being fired. It is believed that nobody was injured but police are currently searching for suspects – possibly as many as four people.
Classes at Henry Ford Community College and at University of Michigan- Dearborn have been canceled Monday night due to the shooting
