Catastrophic flooding hit Columbia, S.C. this past weekend thanks to days of heavy rain and an unusually high tide.

So far, 9 known dead after evacuations with more days of rain to come.

It has been labeled the “1,000 year storm,” the terminology describing a storm having 1-in-1000 chance of occurring.
