The sales numbers are in for Tyga’s recently released The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty, and they’re not pretty nor anything near being gold.

According to Complex, Tyga’s fourth studio project sold 2,200 units since its release on iTunes this past Friday (June 26).

Despite plugging the album through social media heavyweights such as Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, Tyga still experienced shockingly low sales.

Now, let’s remember a few things:

  1. Tyga released the album via Spotify last Tuesday (June 23).
  1. The album wasn’t available for purchase until last Friday (June 26), when Tyga tweeted the link to iTunes.

Even though it’s a few days shy of a full week, Tyga’s album sales are still pretty jaw dropping. Troy Ave, the other artist to experience shockingly low sales this year, sold 4,373 digital copies and just 30 physical copies of his sophomore album Major Without A Deal during the same timespan.

Not long after news of Tyga’s sales hit the Internet, the rapper took to Twitter to fire back. Here’s what he said:
