Twenty six years and one day after Michael Jordan’s infamous game-winning pull up jumper over Craig Ehlo knocked the Cleveland Cavaliers out of the 1989 NBA Playoffs, Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose banked in an off-balance three-pointer to give Chicago a 2-1 series lead over the Cavaliers. In a game highlighted by trash talk from Bulls center Joakim Noah and LeBron James moving into fourth place on the NBA’s all-time playoff assists list, Rose banked in a blind three-pointer over Cavs big man Tristan Thompson to seal a win for Chicago with no time remaining in the game.

“This comes with the territory of being a leader,” Rose told ESPN’s Lisa Salters after the win. “You gotta be able to take these shots. I feel very confident in my game and my ability to make shots. Tonight it just went in.”

The Bulls may face the possibility of playing without All-Star center Pau Gasol who left the game with a hamstring injury. The Bulls currently lead the Eastern Conference Semifinal series against Cleveland with game four scheduled for 3:30 p.m. EST Sunday, May 10.
