Cathleen Alexis, the mother of 34-year-old Navy veteran, Aaron Alexis, who is responsible for killing 12 people and wounding 14 at the Washington Navy Yard has finally released a statement in reaction to her son’s heinous crime. NewsOne is reporting that Cathleen sadly stated, “Aaron is now in a place where he can no longer do harm to anyone, and for that I am glad,” Cathleen Alexis said. “To the families of the victims, I am so so very sorry that this has happened. It’s been three days since the shooting and details of Aaron’s mental health are emerging. It’s being reported that Aaron complained of hearing voices, being followed and he believed that people were using a microwave machine to send vibrations through his body.
Aaron’s clearly suffered through mental health issues, but his mother Cathleen maintains that she has no clue why he son did this. It’s sad because, no matter what, no matter what, she will always be the mother of a monster.
