(Newser) – Another indignity for Lance Armstrong: He has given back his 2000 Olympic bronze medal. Armstrong tweeted the news himself today along with a photo of the medal, which he picked up at the Sydney Games, reports AFP. The medal is now in the hands of the US Olympic Committee, which will turn it over to the International Olympic Committee. And, sorry, fourth-place finisher Abraham Olano of Spain, you won’t be getting it. The IOC has decided that the bronze medal winner will be left vacant in the record books, reports AP.
