Terribly sad news today as we are learning from National Enquirer that Jim Kelly who starred with Bruce Lee in “Enter The Dragon” has died at age 67.

His ex-wife Marilyn Dishman confirmed on Facebook that Jim passed yesterday June 29, 2013.

Kelly began his career after winning the middleweight title at the 1971 International Karate Championships in Long Beach, California he opened his own school (dojo).

After acting with guys lik John Saxon and kung fu legend Bruce Lee in “Enter the Dragon” Kelly was became intertwined with big screen action films.

Kelly is often revered for the line,

“Man, you’re like something out of a comic book.”

 

 

Kelly had starring roles in “blacksploitation” films like “Black Belt Jones” “Black Samurai” “Melinda” and “Three the Hard Way”.

 

Kelly also became a professional tennis coach and even played on the senior tournament.

The cause of his death is not yet known.

We are sure that there are movie buffs and enthusiasts everywhere with heavy hearts today for a man who brought us all a touch of magic to the screen. Rest Well sir and we thank you.
