Earlier today, Ashanti popped in to Hot 97′s studios to chat with K. Foxx and Ebro about her new album “BraveHeart,”
While there, Ashanti danced around the subject of her relationship with Nelly before Ebro said to her, “Let me tell you, it will help you in this album and everything you are doing in the industry to talk about this relationship.”
She then began to open up by saying, “Yeah, we’re cool. I spoke to him yesterday. We’re good. We’re cool… We were great and are still great friends.
She also talked about what her ideal man would be like and why she enjoys going to the places she does. Her new song, “Never Should Have” is influenced by him. She also talked about whether her new album was based off of her break up with him. Ashanti said, “It came from a very sincere place and I think a lot of people have been in a situation where they’ve been betrayed or lied to or taken advantage of.”
